Review by hotel critic
I recently enjoyed a delightful stay at Alegria, which is ideally located for exploring downtown Tavira. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing for easy breakfasts, but I must confess, the real highlight was the charming little Tapas spot just a stone's throw away. With a cozy outdoor terrace, it embodied the local flavor perfectly-so much so that I can still taste the signature anchovies! After a day of wandering, I couldn't resist grabbing a drink from the onsite bar. The refreshing cocktails revitalized me after indulging at the pizzeria situated downstairs. As a wildlife conservationist from Sydney, I'm all for places that offer community connections-this area felt like a taste of how real people live. The comfortable room was clean and quiet, making it easy to unwind after a rainy afternoon spent trying, unsuccessfully, to watch Netflix. If you visit, be sure to check out the lovely bakery overlooking the main square for some sunshine and pastries. Alegria offers a genuine experience with various dining options just steps away.
